I can still remember the walk up to the Acropolis.
The final steps are through a reconstructed entrance of columns.
But once you pass through them, the REAL columns stare down at you from the main attraction of the Acropolis…
…The Parthenon! See the above image and jump to 21:07 of this video to visualize the same: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CohV5DFPR-4
I was in Athens for three days back in November 2022. I was on my way to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
It was cheaper to fly to Athens, book a hotel for 3 nights, and to hang out, than it was to fly direct to Qatar!
Those amazing Greek columns came to mind when I found the solution to sizing my “Drag & Drop Builder” emails in AWeber.
I noticed the default setting was ending up too wide at about 670 pixels.
Some AWeber documentation claimed the default should be 600 pixels but I didn’t like how wide the emails were. It felt hard to scan so far from left to right.
So I found a cool online ruler to measure pixels on my screen.
It’s called “A Ruler for Windows”. You can get it for free: https://www.arulerforwindows.com/
That’s when I discovered my default width was 670 pixels.
Digging around AWeber, I found a way to create a precise width for my template email. You can use columns!
More info on that is here:

But I was able to add a column to the left and right of my email content. I set them to 70-pixels each with the help of “A Ruler for Windows”.
That 530-pixel width felt perfect to me and that’s what I now use!
The Parthenon has perfect proportions and architecture…heavily thanks to precisely placed columns.
My AWeber emails also have columns to thank!
Thanks to AWeber’s mobile responsive design, the emails still look great on narrower screens, especially mobile phones.
